Harvest method: manual
Fermentation and sur lie contact: at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C, a part in spherical 400-litre stoneware vats, and the rest in steam-bent Cigar barrels
Maturation: 9 months on the fine lees in the same fermentation vessels
Bottle ageing: 14 months
2024 Growing Season
The 2024 vintage was marked by a mild, rainy winter followed by a wet spring, which slowed the growing cycle after an early budbreak. From mid-June to early September, a long dry period set in, with high temperatures between late July and August and moderate water stress. Rainfall at the beginning of September restored the vines’ water balance, while the following dry and stable conditions allowed the grapes to ripen evenly, preserving freshness, acidity and aromatic definition.
2024 Harvest Notes
The harvest at Argentiera began on 5 September, while the grapes destined for Scenario were picked during the second week of the month. Careful harvest timing allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness while maintaining freshness and precision. The resulting wine shows excellent balance, vibrant acidity, a well-defined aromatic profile and a distinctive saline minerality that reflects the vineyard’s proximity to the sea.
Vibrant synthesis of a small vineyard, Scenario is born in Argentiera thanks to the constant dialogue with the territory and the daily work in the vineyard and cellar. A terrace overlooking Villa Donoratico and Viale dei Pini, guides the gaze to wander freely over the Ligurian Sea and the northern horizon of this unspoiled corner of the Tuscan coast, up to the Apuan Alps. This structured white wine received particular attention during vinification through the use of ceramic stoneware containers and cigares, special untoasted wooden vessels bent by steam.
