Doc Bolgheri Rosato

The wine resembles the color of a bright pink peony. On the nose it expresses high toned notes of red fruit. Shades of cherry and raspberry underline its freshness.
A well-balanced palate gives way to an aftertaste not only of berries but of rosehips.

Soft pressing, low temperature fermentation. Aging on the fine lees exclusively in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, then the wine was assembled and bottled.

The year began with a generally mild winter and scarcely rainy days, then temperatures abruptly dropped in the month of January. March has undoubtedly been dry with little rain and quite hot, thus setting an early bud breaking which, however, has not been hastened thanks to a mild and fairly rainy month of April. In general, the rains in spring and the cool temperature in May, which have been quite unusual, greatly delayed flowering and the stage of fruit set, enabling the plants to reach a perfect vegetative balance for the summer season that has generally been dry with some rainfall that created water reserves and has accompanied the stage of veraison, driving away the danger of water stress of the plants. The weather in September, hot and dry, has ensured a slow and lengthy maturation; the plants with great productive balance have managed to perfectly ripen the bunches, which showed excellent quality on average. Harvesting began on 6 September with the Merlot in the area of “Villa Donoratico” and ended with the Cabernet Sauvignon picked between the end of September and 9 October. The wines are sweet and endowed with great structure, and the level of acidity is marked for almost all the varieties, making the tasting very balanced for a vintage that has immediately proven to be excellent.
